Do you have an idea of how large the Earth would be if, suddenly, it collapsed into a black hole? The answer is mesmerizing!
In this video, we will discuss of the escape velocity at a position on the event horizon. Then, by playing with the escape velocity formula, we will realize that we can calculate the size of any object that would collapse into a black hole. We will use the Earth as an example, but you will learn how to do this calculation for any object, even your cat!
This video is a teaser of a longer lecture that looks into grand detail at the notion of escape velocity. This longer video should be out in a week or so.
Enjoy!
