We’ll look at early Adventist views on non-resistance, starting with William Miller; a change of emphasis under Carlyle B. Haynes; and consider whether non-violence is still meaningful for Adventists today.
Teacher:
Bill Cork is a chaplain at the Houston Veteran’s Administration. He sent nine years as Assistant Director of Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries for the NAD (North American Division). He had 20 years as an army chaplain, and has pastored and done campus ministry. He is a graduate of Atlantic Union College (1984), started graduate study in church history with Paul Landa at Loma Linda, then received his MA (1986) in church history and MDiv (1989) from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg.
