In this video, I'm jamming on one of Jim Riley's original compositions from his incredible drum play-along book "Survival Guide for the Modern Drummer." I'm doing my best to channel some of my favorite big-beat groove players, including Steve Jordan, JJ Johnson, and Charley Drayton.
Please excuse the handful of times where I fall out of the pocket with the backing track. I recorded this with no warmup or practice run at 7:30am, after all. ;)
