Samagra Shiksha is an integrated scheme for school education, extending from preschool to Grade XII. It has been prepared with the broader goal of improving school effectiveness, measured in terms of equal opportunities for schooling and equitable learning outcomes. It subsumes the schemes of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), Teacher Education (TE) and the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Vocationalisation of School Education. The vision of the Samagra Shiksha is to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education from
preschool to senior secondary stage in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) for education
Vocational education is perceived to be inferior to mainstream education and meant largely for students who are unable to cope with the latter. It is a serious concern that can only be dealt with by a complete re-imagination of how vocational education is offered to students in the future.
Vocational education will be integrated in the educational offerings of all secondary schools in a phased manner over the next decade. Towards this, secondary schools will also collaborate with #ITIs #polytechnics #local industry etc. #Skilllabs will also be set up and created in the schools. #Highereducation institutions will offer vocational education either on their own or in partnership with industry and NGOs. The B.Voc. degrees introduced in 2013 will continue to exist. HEIs will also be allowed to conduct short-term certificate courses in various skills including soft skills. #Lokvidya
