This is infact a Sonic Reference.

The robot's name is Big Berd.

There are infact 3 ways to spare Burghley, Fighting the robot, Cutting the strings (they infact do not ring.) or just having Noelle talk to him... Actually, it's surprisingly hard to actually harm him since you'd need a ranged Magic attack which costs Sol lots of energy. (Not quite decided whether I'd use TP from deltarune or BP from the Wildfire prequel fangame yet)

The head of the robot is actually a Prototype of some kind of Skull Blaster Burghley found in an abandoned shed and stuck a beak on (It does not work correctly as it costs 2x the amount of energy it fires and shoots out the sides and back as well)

And yes, this is one elaborate Sonic reference disguised as a Deltarune one.

The scrolling highway was inspired by Queen in Deltarune.
