Meghalaya Government Postpones GHADC Elections Amid Rising Tension
The council elections in the Garo Hills region has been postponed. The Meghalaya government has postponed the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council elections owing to the ongoing violence that has engulfed the region. Noteworthy is that with both districts of east and west Garo hills being hit by violence and tension, the decision has been decided to postpone the GHADC polls. So far there is no word on when the polls would be conducted.
