Описание: As we get better and better at understanding consumer behavior, our digital marketing strategies are evolving into the creation of dark patterns. In their 2022 talk at TEDxUofT, Adrian Petterson explores the harmful effects of dark patterns on neurodiverse people and how individuals and institutions contribute to building better digital spaces for everyone. Adrian Petterson is a PhD student at the Faculty of Information at the University of Toronto. With a Bachelor’s in Cognitive Science and a Master’s in User Experience Design, they are currently researching the interaction of marginalized people with technology, particularly within the disability community. Their work on the effect of manipulative design on people with cognitive disabilities has been presented at multiple conferences. Adrian is also the founder of the Accessibility Interests Working Group, an organization that works to break down barriers to education for students with disabilities and to have conversations with staff and faculty about inclusive education. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
