Patrick Swayze was born in the lone star state of Texas in 1952. The famous actor spent his childhood in Houston, Texas with his 4 other siblings. Patrick adored the spotlight in his youth and tried his hand at many new sports and hobbies.

His mother was the director of the Houston Jazz Ballet Company and introduced him to dance when he was a very young boy. As the years went on, Patrick’s love for dance only grew stronger.

A tragic incident led to the end of Patrick Swayze’s dance career. Though it was devastating he could no longer dance, Patrick made the best of the situation and changed his life for good. Film Career
Not long after Swayze realized his dream of being a dancer was over, Patrick gathered himself and began to pursue a different type of fame. Swayze took the stage in 1976 when he made his Broadway debut in Goodtime Charley.

After success on Broadway, Patrick Swayze received numerous film and television offers. His career really began to take off after he was cast in Grease the musical.
Patrick is most known today for his famous role as the hunky dance instructor in Dirty Dancing.

Sadly, Patrick passed away in 2009 at the age of 59 after a long battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
