With triple General Electric T64 engines and a seven-blade main rotor system, the CH-53E remains one of the most powerful heavy-lift helicopters in the U.S. Marine Corps arsenal. Capable of carrying over 30,000 pounds externally, this aircraft plays a critical role in expeditionary warfare and rapid-response logistics.

In this coastal training scenario, Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron aircrew execute a precision external sling load under shifting winds, rotor wash turbulence, and limited landing space. Ground Marines coordinate closely, guiding the descending cargo into position before rapidly disconnecting and clearing the zone.
