We feature recordings of Vidushi Prof. T S Ramaa on 22nd of every month (her Birthday 22nd May 1949). Today we present Dharmasamvardhani in Madhyamavathi by Muthuswami Dikshitar, Dharmasamvardhani is the goddess of Thiruvaiyaru, my hometown. The recording is a little coarse but madam voice and renditions are silken smooth.
This channel is dedicated to the divine music of our beloved Ramaa Ma’am - an ‘A’ top grade All India Radio artiste, a pristine classical musician, an unparalleled Guru and affectionate guide to her students (her children) in all walks of life – music and beyond. An epitome of True Bhakti – She breathed pure music every moment of her life. She lived an exemplary life by principles she stood for. She shared with all of us, her students, not just the nuances of singing but several deep insights into appreciating good music and most importantly, the right approach to listening to good music. This effort – RAMAANUBHAVA – is an attempt to experience and enjoy ma’am’s music through her approach to listening!
