The UN’s New Map Resolution

Описание: On September 4, 2026, the UN General Assembly adopted the “Correct the Map” resolution by 164 votes to 1, with 6 abstentions.
Led by Togo on behalf of the African Group, the non-binding resolution encourages governments, schools and technology companies to use equal-area projections such as Equal Earth when relative land size matters.
It does not redraw borders or ban the Mercator projection.
