The John Muir way, West Lothian. Running from South Queensferry under the Forth road bridge and Queensferry crossing to Blackness Castle, around Boness harbor, and under the Avon Viaduct, ending on the Avon aqueduct on the union canal. The route is teeming with nature and wildlife, from the Greater spotted woodpecker drumming on the trees, to the long-beaked Curlew, striding across the great mudflats of the Firth of Forth at low tide.
This 14-mile section forms part of the 134 mile long John Muir way that spans the width of Scotland, from Helensburgh to Dunbar.
