This trip started with a memory — a camp from childhood that was never marked on a map and slowly faded into time. Somewhere out here, it still exists. Finding it was the goal — but proving our systems in real conditions was the purpose.

Winter is not the easy season to search for anything. Trails disappear, access changes, and mistakes carry higher consequences. That’s exactly why this was the right time to go.

This video documents a real-world winter field test of a newly assembled and modified 1994 Jeep YJ adventure vehicle, along with the gear, planning, and decision-making systems built around it. No perfect conditions. No shortcuts. Just honest testing in an environment that doesn’t care about intentions.

Along the way, we evaluate what worked, what didn’t, and what needs improvement — because preparedness isn’t proven by owning gear or making plans. It’s proven when things are stressed and still function.
