Basic Element is a Swedish 🇸🇪 Eurodance group formed in 1992. The group returned in 2005 and is still releasing new material. From Malmö, Sweden, the group originally consisted of rapper/singer Peter Thelenius (Petrus), keyboardist Cesar Zamini, accordionist Branko J. Nuss, and vocalist Zetma Prembo. Previous vocalists were Saunet Sparell, Marie Fredriksson (not to be confused with Roxette singer Marie Fredriksson). Currently, the band has two members: Peter Thelenius and Jonas Wesslander. Peter and Ceasar come from Malmö, Sweden. They went to Holland to work and earn some money, but without success. So they decided to return to Malmö and become pop stars. They met singer Zetma Prenbo through the employment office. Their first single, Move Me, was released on the EMI label in 1993, with the help of producer Stefan Andersson. It was followed by the megahit The Promise Man, which was one of the most played songs on radio in early 1994 and reached number one on almost every dance chart in Scandinavia. The covers of the first 2 singles showed 2 girls: Zetma and another vocalist who had left the band before the release of the third single Touch. The name Basic Element has a funny origin. The members had difficulty coming up with a good stage name and while arguing about it, Ceasar burned his hand on a radiator (an element in Swedish), so they decided to make a name with 'element'. In 1994 his first album was released. Titled Basic Injection, it brought together the singles The Promise Man, Move Me, and Touch and the upcoming Leave It Behind. It sold 35,000 copies in Sweden.
