Zwift Race CAT C | Race Breakdown

Описание: My first Zwift CAT C race of 2022. Watch for a breakdown and analysis of the race if you can call it that. You might pick up some tips and tricks for racing on zwift by watching some of my mistakes in this race!

The race was 3R Racing's Gotham Grind which consisted of just 18km, so short and sweet, on a rolling course of two laps.

After looking at zwift power I actually came in second just 8s behind the guy who came first who I battled with the entire race, and 50s in front of the next guy behind me. Ignore the fact there was only about 5 riders in cat c on zwiftpower.

If the race had been split into category's fully or a staggered start that might have left me with a more consistent race pace not having to surge so much at the start and keep with the cat A and B riders. But that's all part of the fun.

The race dynamics left me getting dropped consistently and having to put in efforts beyond what was comfortable in order to stay in with a chance of winning the race. Making for an all round difficult race.

What I like about racing on zwift is, If you race right you can win without putting out the most power in the race. So it's a great mix if pure fitness, watts, power and tactics that makes zwift race competitive fun and effective. It's also much easier to jump on the turbo trainer and enter one of the many races than it is to do something similar out road riding.
