पंजाब के पटियाला में पूर्व इंस्पेक्टर जनरल ऑफ पुलिस (IG) अमर सिंह चहल ने घर में खुद को गोली मार ली। उन्होंने गोली सुरक्षाकर्मी के रिवॉल्वर से पेट में मारी। गोली लगने से वह घायल हो गए, जिसके बाद उन्हें तुरंत पटियाला के पार्क अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया है।

पूर्व IPS अधिकारी चहल ने गोली मारने से पहले उन्होंने 12 पेज का नोट लिखा। पुलिस अधिकारियों के मुताबिक नोट में 8.10 करोड़ रुपए के ऑनलाइन फ्रॉड का जिक्र है। उन्होंने कुछ लोगों से पैसे उधार लिए थे। चहल ने आगे लिखा कि परिवार को सुरक्षा दी जाए।

उन्होंने पंजाब पुलिस के DGP गौरव यादव से SIT या CBI से मामले की जांच करवाने की मांग की है।

ये नोट उन्होंने अपने दोस्तों को भी भेजा। जानकारी के मुताबिक घटना के वक्त उनका बेटा घर पर ही मौजूद था।

अमर सिंह चहल IG पद से रिटायर होने के बाद पटियाला में रह रहे थे। पटियाला के SSP वरुण शर्मा ने बताया कि गोली चलने की सूचना मिलते ही पुलिस की टीमें तुरंत अमर सिंह चहल के घर पहुंच गईं।

He appealed to Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav to have the case investigated by an SIT (Special Investigation Team) or the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation).

He also sent this note to his friends. According to reports, his son was present at home at the time of the incident.

Amar Singh Chahal was living in Patiala after retiring from the IG post. Patiala SSP Varun Sharma said that as soon as the police received information about the shooting, police teams immediately reached Amar Singh Chahal's residence.
