We pass Hevingham woods many times, and have often said we'd have to investigate it. We're so glad we eventually did, it's beautiful. We parked up in a little car park off the A140 (probably room for around ten cars) but you could probably park somewhere in Hevingham village too as the main path follows straight through. We plotted out a route that took us mainly around the outskirts of the woodlands with the occasional pathway meandering through the trees themselves. The woodland is a great place for a gentle stroll and dog walking. We also met a horse and rider on the main path. Our our chosen route we stubbled across an access to the old car scrap yard... a place we visited many times in the 90s to find secondhand car parts (I don't think it's still used). We didn't go right into the site itself but just seeing some of the old car parts being overtaken by nature was brought back memories.
I'd recommend giving the woodland a look... we'll definitely go back now we know how lovely it is.
