This video is probably going to aggravate some people… but it needs to be said. ⚠️
It’s winter, everyone’s trying to stay warm, and I keep seeing space heaters everywhere in RVs. Yes, they’re convenient. Yes, they’re easy. But I’m also seeing burned outlets, melted plugs, and even damaged 50-amp connections way too often this year.
Most space heaters pull 1,500 watts (12.5 amps) continuously. RV outlets and wiring simply aren’t designed to handle that kind of load for 8–10 hours straight — and no, your breaker won’t always trip before damage happens.
If you want to stay warm and safe in an RV:
• Use your RV’s built-in electric fireplace or heater
• Use your furnace
• Make the heat last with skirting and window insulation
I know this topic is touchy — but I’d rather aggravate a few people than see someone deal with a fire or major damage.
