The music proceeds with restraint and vigilance, sustaining form as an act of will. Harmony and motion are carefully maintained, not because they flow naturally, but because they must. There is no calm here, only composure. Each gesture feels assembled, attentive, and quietly determined, as if stability itself requires continuous effort. The piece does not deny tension; it manages it. Within the Noir Fantasias cycle, Fantasia VI marks the final moment where coherence still feels plausible—the last sustained belief that control, though strained, can endure.

About the artist: Seneka Abeyratne, a retired Sri Lankan economist, has numerous creative interests, including writing (fiction/drama), photography, digital art, dancing (ballet/contemporary), choreography (classical-contemporary), and seeking beauty in dissonance via solo piano improvisations (noir classical/noir free jazz). He is a widely published author and winner of three prestigious local literary awards, including the Gratiaen Prize. His evocative, digitally altered images have been exhibited in Sri Lanka and France. Whether through word, image, or sound, his art remains an exploration of introspection — an unhurried dialogue between shadow and soul.
