Описание: In this video, Kevin Hicks explores how Chinese immigrant labour played a significant role in shaping Canada's past and present. During the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway, Chinese labourers were brought over to work in dangerous and grueling conditions, with many losing their lives in the process. After construction of the railway they faced discrimination and racism, so moved east to towns like Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, only to face other hardships. Today their legacy is recognized and celebrated as their contributions have helped shape Canada's diverse and multicultural society.
