The first multitrack music demo by Ronnie Pontiac and Tamra Lucid (under the name Cat Cult) a year or two after we stopped working for Manly Palmer Hall at the Philosophical Research Society, before we became involved in riot grrrl. Recorded on an 8 track 1/2 inch reel to reel in the same apartment where we first performed the Orphic Hymns.
Ronnie Pontiac: vocals, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and drums
Tamra Lucid: bass
Recorded by Ronnie Pontiac
Mastered by Phoenix LaFollette
The video is an homage to our beloved cats. Photos by Tamra Lucid.
Trip
Driving Pacific Coast Highway
in Baja we rolled in the surf
played Balboa Island pinball
in L.A. we sat broke on the curb
sliding down the dunes
waves crashed the cliffside
in the wind by Morro Rock
we took seashells from the tide
I can't believe I make you fear I said
and I do it every day
I never want to hurt you
I don't know what to say
in Big Sur we laughed in the rain
under the redwoods we stood
in San Francisco we threw flowers
into the bay for Andy Wood
knew we were in Oregon
lost in the green mist
big trees bigger trucks
cities in the wilderness
the game is there is no game she said
when you're a prisoner of fear
we were in a gloomy motel room
watching TV and sharing a beer
in Agate Beach in the fire and sand
we saw the fingerprint of grace
in the stone in the sea
in the skin on every face
Washington holy rainforest
cold Puget Sound
some kind of spiritual awakening
driving on empty at dawn
