Exploring Hidden Trails & Abandoned Campsite / Solo Camping with my Dog

Описание: Join me, Kenny of All Trades, and my dog Toby as we embark on a solo dispersed camping adventure from the comforts of my truck camper. We will be taking you deep inside the beautiful Chippewa National Forest in Northern Minnesota! 🌲🐾

I originally planned to camp by a lake after spotting a promising dispersed campsite from aerial photos. On the way, we stumbled upon an abandoned National Forest Campground — overgrown, eerie, and full of spooky vibes. We took a walk around to show you the haunting atmosphere before deciding to move on.

When we reached the lake, I found what looked like bait traps along the shore, and with heavy rain clouds rolling in, I didn’t feel comfortable making this spot our home for the next two nights. So, we drove further into the forest, pushing through a wall of rain, until we discovered the perfect dispersed campsite along a peaceful river.

As the rain cleared, Mother Nature treated us to a stunning sunset that made me realize this was exactly where we were meant to be. The next day brought more rain showers, creating a relaxing atmosphere inside the camper as I listened to raindrops pattering on the roof. Later, the sun came out and I captured some incredible wildlife moments — a sunfish making spawning beds and a turtle digging a hole to lay eggs right on the shoreline!

That evening, I cooked up a delicious campfire meal and enjoyed another breathtaking sunset over the water. The following morning, Toby and I explored the forest trails and even discovered another nearby dispersed campsite.
