Описание: What does your home say about you? This talk compares contemporary French and Chinese interior design, exploring the different traditions and tracing similarities and differences. It asks the audience to consider how their heritage and lived experiences influence their home décor, and how their home décor influences them in turn. Firstly, I will ask the audience to imagine something - “Take a few seconds to think about what French house interior design looks like. Now think about Chinese house interior design.”. I will give a brief run through on the history of French interior design starting in the 17th century. I will then explain what one of the current interior designs (mix of traditional and luxury) in France looks like. Next, I will talk about one of the current Chinese interior design styles called Feng Shui and about how the five elements are believed to have powers like health which will help have a good future. Then, I will compare them, talk about the similarities and differences and the reason for them. Finally, the conclusion that will summarise everything that was said.
