Recording of "Things Kids Do," by Alan Kay's Learning Research Group at Xerox PARC. This video documents educational experiments on learning with computers, with children learning Smalltalk on Xerox Alto computers. These experiments were designed and conducted by Adele Goldberg, and were first carried out at PARC, with children from Jordan Jr. High School and Barron Park Elementary School, and later a pilot classroom was set up at Jordan Jr. High in 1975 with three Altos running Smalltalk and formal curricula teaching simulation and graphics. Some of the programs created or used by the children involved animation and music. One student, Marian Goldeen, even created her own class to each others. The recordings were completed between 1974 and 1976.
