A cold front moves through the state Wednesday night into Thursday, bringing the potential for a wintry mix across north central Montana. Winter Storm Watches are in place, with freezing rain creating the risk for very slick and icy travel conditions by Christmas morning.
On Christmas Day, snow chances will be limited mainly to western and southwestern Montana, while most of the state stays dry after the system moves through. Cooler temperatures stick around Saturday and Sunday before warming up next week, along with increasing breezes as temperatures rebound.
