D.I.Y. Project - NOT TRAINED TO DO THIS TYPE OF WORK BEFORE - JUST PREVIOUS BASIC EXPERIENCE IN DIY
SELF TAUGHT USE OF SAWS AND TOOLS. YouTube was very helpful in certain areas but thought I needed to do a complete breakdown of the ceiling build from timber rafters to upvc soffits and trims.
“A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN MUST BE USED FOR WIRING AND SWITCHES”
Most lengths of timber were 5m lengths for both roof & spotlights panels ( be sure to purchase treated blue timber battens lengths.
All lengths of upvc cladding were 5m lengths 10mm thickness x 30cm width.
Screws used for all roof timber battens are displayed in video Easy drive (4.8 x 50mm)
Screws used for cladding were SPAX Wirox T-STAR Plus Screw 3.5 x 25mm (much much easier to use then standard pozi screws.
IMPORTANTANT - When screwing batten's over insulation, " MAKE SURE YOU PUT PRESSURE ON THE BATON BECAUSE THE INSULATION WILL GATTHER AROUND DRILL BITS AND SCREWS. I was advised by YBS INSULATION to use the Easy Drive screws as in video.
I insulated and cladded it for approximately £200 for insulation, £200 for cladding and Joints screws were approximately £30-£40.
£100 for timber
REMEMBER TOOLS COST EXTRA CASH, LUCKILY I ALREADY HAD ACCUMULATED A SELECTION OVER THE YEARS
But materials were approximately £500, Spotlights were about £100
