In this video, we explain OSPF, BGP, and MPLS in a fun and simple way – by imagining how they would behave if they were people in a group project!
OSPF (Open Shortest Path First):
“I’ve already calculated the shortest path. Let’s just follow the metric!”
👉 OSPF is an IGP (Interior Gateway Protocol) that always looks for the shortest path based on cost.
BGP (Border Gateway Protocol):
“I don’t care if it’s shorter, I’ll take the more reliable one.”
👉 BGP is the protocol of the internet, focusing on policy, reliability, and stability over speed.
MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching):
“Forget routes, I’ve set up a private tunnel. Meet me there!”
👉 MPLS doesn’t care about routing like OSPF or BGP – instead, it builds label-switched paths for faster, private, and reliable forwarding.
✅ By the end of this video, you’ll understand the key differences between OSPF, BGP, and MPLS in a fun and memorable way.
