下底村迎老爷的历史起源可追溯至南宋时期，距今已有 700 多年历史。这一习俗源于潮汕地区古老的社祭传统，最初是对土地神（伯公）的祭祀活动，祈求风调雨顺、五谷丰登和村落平安。
迎老爷不仅是祭祀活动，更是潮汕文化的重要组成部分，承载着村落的历史记忆和集体情感，体现了潮汕人对土地、神明和传统文化的敬畏与热爱。
The historical origin of Yinglaoye in Xiadi Village can be traced back to the Southern Song Dynasty, which has a history of more than 700 years. This custom originated from the ancient community sacrifice tradition in Chaoshan area. It was originally a sacrificial activity to the land god (Bo Gong) to pray for good weather, abundant harvests and peace of the village.
Welcoming the Master is not only a sacrificial activity, but also an important part of Chaoshan culture. It carries the historical memory and collective emotions of the village and reflects the Chaoshan people's awe and love for the land, gods and traditional culture.
