Bradley Charles Cooper (born January 5, 1975 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American actor and film producer.
His work in Silver Linings Playbook earned him his first Academy Award nomination for Best Actor, and he would later be nominated the following two years for his work in American Hustle and American Sniper. In 2018, Cooper made his directorial debut with the film A Star Is Born, which he also starred in, co-wrote, and produced, as well as contributing to its soundtrack.
In 2014, he played Joseph Merrick in a revival of The Elephant Man on Broadway, earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Play, and began portraying Rocket Raccoon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In 2018, Cooper produced, wrote, directed, and starred in a remake of the musical romance A Star Is Born. He earned three Academy Award nominations for the film, as well as a BAFTA Award and two Grammy Awards for his contributions to its US Billboard 200 number-one soundtrack and its lead single "Shallow".[6] He earned another Oscar nomination for his production of Joker in 2019.
