Today on THATS SARAP, Dnell and I are on going on a Seattle Burger Tour. Here in Seattle for my cousin’s Dj gig/birthday trip and we decide to see what the Seattle Burger scene is about! We’ve heard of many good things so being the food explorers we are, we had to do a burger tour and not your normal tour.
Coming off a wild night at Club Vue with dj performances by @omgadrian and @m0mlyn, we wanted to start the day with burgers as our first thing to do. Considering the short amount of time we’re here, we had to make the day count. We flew in Friday morning and leave early Sunday morning.
Just like our first Burger video, we wanted to have the restaurant’s “signature burger” as the constant and a specialty burger to show the creativity or versatility of the menu.
📍Li’l Woodys - Capitol Hill
1211 Pine St
Seattle, WA 98101
Big Woody $8
1/3 lb. Painted Hills grass-fed beef, Hills bacon, Tillamook cheddar, chopped onions, 8 diced pickles, tomato slices, lettuce, ketchup and mayo
Top Pot Burger $10
1/4 lb. Painted Hills grass-fed beef, Marshmallow creme puff, Tillamook cheddar, Hills Bacon, peanut butter, and on top of a Top Pot Bismarck donut
Li’l Woodys was excellent, definitely captured the casual and local restaurant vibe while being unique with their burgers. Solid and delicious. The Top Pot burger definitely caught us by surprise and shocked our taste buds.
📍8oz Burger & Company - Capitol Hill
1401 Broadway
Seattle, WA 98122
The 8oz. $13
8oz house blend patty, arugula, balsamic onions, Hills Bacon, Beechers flagship cheddar, and truffle aioli
The Hill $15
8oz house blend patty, Painted Hills Short rib, fried shallots, Demi glace, fontina, horseradish dijon
*All burgers are house blend patty made from naturally raised, antibiotic free, hormone free, 100% local black angus from Open Prairie located in Pasco, WA
8oz Burgers were truly captivating. Aside from the pleasant vintage western bar theme, the burger had us out of seat, literally. The quality of the burger and preparation gave us an experience like no other and our action shows.
📍Katsu Burger - Capitol Hill
1410 12th Ave
Seattle, WA 98122
Tokyo Classic $8.25
the original. Grass-fed Beef Katsu, Tonkstsu Sauce, Japanese mayo
By this time of the day, we’ve already had a mini food tour of Pikes Place. After 4 burgers, we’ve kind of hit our limit so we decided on one signature burger. It did disappoint. I came in with unsure expectations but enjoyed the delightful Japanese inspired burger. Nothing live I’ve had before and most definitely worth the experience.
📍Dick’s Drive-In - Capitol Hill
Cheeseburger $1.75
One patty, cheese, ketchup, mustard
Visiting Dick’s was not part of the plan but because Dnell hadn’t been yet we figured we can squeeze it in. A Seattle staple that couldn’t be missed. Sad to say we might’ve upset other Seattle locals by only ordering the cheeseburger instead of the Dick’s Deluxe or Special but based on my last visit, I preferred the regular cheeseburger. Dick’s is affordable and delicious and the experience takes you back to certain time periods where burger drive-in’s thrived.
This Seattle trip and burger tour taught us a lot about our direction with food. This will definitely not be the last burger tour as we hope to visit many major cities and taste everyone’s best burgers!!
