As producer of Base2 Music, I want to show you how many instruments, in this case the organ of Notre Dame des niege at l'Alp d'Huez in France, has harmonics that stretch (ok quietly) up over 60 kHz, and that by downsampling to CD audio at 44.1 kHz, all this spectral and spacial information is lost. This is one reason many like High resolution audio, not because you can hear at 60kHz, because you can't, but you can react with the harmonics, and this gives the recording more realism, and better timing cues. Recording is from 'Organ and Clarinet' (from December 2020) on www.base2music.store
Organist: Jean-Paul Imbert.
