The Sava River is one of the best-preserved lowland rivers in Europe. Overall, 64% of its course and its floodplains are protected and represent a European biodiversity centre.
This exceptional ecological corridor is threatened by the spread of invasive alien plants. Invasive alien species are the 2nd most significant cause of biodiversity loss in the world, and they are increasingly becoming a problem for the world economy and human health.
The documentary Blue-green world of the Sava river is showing the hidden beauty of the Sava River and surrounding areas as well as the activities of removing invasive alien species.
