Mokranjac was a Serbian composer and music educator. Born in Negotin in 1856, Mokranjac studied at conservatories in Belgrade, Munich, Rome and Leipzig. He later became conductor of the Belgrade Choir Society and founder of the Serbian Music School and the first Serbian string quartet, in which he played cello. He left Belgrade at the beginning of World War I and moved to Skopje, where he died on 28 September 1914. We sing from him two anthologies, in which Mokranjac brings together several collected songs that have a regional and thematic connection.
This fourteenth anthology by Mokranjac consists of Bosnian songs collected by Mokranjac and translated into Serbian. This work is from 1908.
