Описание: The Batwa, or Twa, are an indigenous hunter-gatherer group from the Great Lakes region of Central and East Africa, recognized as some of the area's oldest inhabitants. Historically, they lived in rainforests as fruit gatherers and hunters but were evicted from their lands for national parks and agro-industries, leading to marginalization and disruption of their traditional lifestyles. Culturally, they lived in small dwellings and caves, relying on wild game, fruits, vegetables, and honey, particularly valuing stingless bee honey as a delicacy and medicine. The Batwa reside in Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, and the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
