Leak Detection & Trace Under Bathroom Floor | Thermal Imaging & Targeted Access

Описание: In this video we carry out a professional leak detection and trace to locate a hidden water leak beneath a bathroom floor.

Using thermal imaging and targeted investigation, we identified abnormal temperature patterns indicating a likely leak in the hot water pipework serving the basin. Initial checks showed the pipework ran behind the basin, through the wall, and then back under the floor — so controlled access was required on both sides of the wall to trace the route properly.

We carefully lifted sections of flooring, broke out the screed where needed, and followed the pipe run into the WC area, where we located the failed section of pipework. The leak was confirmed on the hot supply, exactly as expected from the thermal imaging results.

On inspection, the pipework was found to be severely thinned and degraded. To prevent further failure, the affected section was cut out and the system safely capped off beneath the floor as a temporary measure. This stops the active leak and prevents further damage, but the pipework will need to be properly re-run to provide a long-term solution, which will involve further access and reinstatement works.
