Hopefully, this video helps you figure out how to catch a striped bass!

Catching your first striped bass from shore can be a daunting task. There is so much water to fish, and so many places the fish can be at any given time. You might even be in the right place at the right time, but not throwing the right bait!

That's why I put together this top 3 list. These three lures cover a wide variety of surfcasting situations, at least for striped bass fishing in New England.

Additionally, these lures are mainly used in the spring, summer, and fall. It's January right now, so a lot of the baitfish that these lures imitate aren't in New England waters. However, if you're looking to catch your first ever striped bass this coming season, throwing these lures in spring will give you a great shot!

If you're don't know much about striper fishing, simply keep an eye on when people start catching fish, then go out with some of these lures and explore your local waters!

Many times, chasing fishing report locations won't work out. All to often by the time the information gets out to the public, the fish have moved on from that spot! It's so important to GET OUTSIDE and FISH YOUR OWN "BACKYARD"! There are plenty of hidden spots out there if you're willing to explore a lot of water, and these lures will help you find the fish!
