How To Make a Top Bar Hive.

Описание: I am making a top bar beehive to include bees as part of my garden. In this video I show you pretty much step by step how I made this top bar beehive.

Parts list
Sides 2x 1100mmx300mm
Ends 2x 450mmx300mm
Follower board 2x 380mm across the top 130mm across the bottom 280mm deep
Winter floor 1x 1100mmx180mm (optional)
Roof frame sides 2x 1180mmx75mm
Roof frame ends 2x 455mmx150mm I cut these with a gable roof angle but you could keep them flat if you prefer.
The above parts should be 25mm if you live in a cold climate but I have have used 18mm ply as my winteres dont get to cold.
Legs 4x 800mm and of a standard that will support the hive for many years.
Roof I used 2x 1200mmx300mm ply that I used to make the hive but you could easily go down to 10mm ply as long as it is exterior grade.
Top bars 430mmx34mmx22mm you will need about 30 and any straight grained wood should be fine.
comb guides 300mmx6mm half round dowel You will need one for each top bar.

You will also need some perpex if you wish to make an inspection window along with hinges and some sort of latch for the door.
Screws, nails and exterior grade pva glue.
