Update 2022:
Spotify say "support for Pioneer and JVC-Kenwood car audio head units has been deprecated. This means it will no longer be possible to launch the built-in Spotify app from the interface"
This is not good. You can however roll back the version of Spotify on your 'phone and that will re-enable the app on the stereo. This thread explains the process:
