I'm showing the process of exporting the DAZ Genesis 8 basic male from DAZ Studio. I'm using version 4.12.1.117 of DAZ Studio.
Export this with the shown options, paying specific attention to the FBX version that will be exported and make sure to choose "binary" because Blender cannot load the ASCII (text) formated FBX file.
We'll put a compatible pose onto the armature before the conversion. The converter only needs to know about the armature so we have that selected and load a compatible template (BBM). The one I'm using is for NO PHYSICS in order to prevent chest distortions in the male.
I can then "Convert". After the conversion I select all of the mesh that I want to export for use with Second Life and use the quick export button below the conversion tool.
