P Will shares the steps he took to lose over 60 pounds to join the US Army. It is going to take hard work and dedication to achieve your weightless goal. Fat loss is a numbers game, so you need to calculate the math correctly.
To lose one pound of fat a week, you need to eat 500 calories less than your base metabolic rate or “maintenance calories.”
Use the following formula to find a rough estimation of your maintenance calories.
(Body Weight x 15)
For my body weight of 190 pounds my maintenance calories would be roughly 2,850 calories.
(190 x 15 = 2850)
To lose 1 pound of fat a week (3500 calorie deficit) I would need to eat at a 500 daily calorie deficit.
2850 - 500 = 2350
My caloric goal everyday would be 2350.
