August 2025 Pulse Video: Welcome Back for the 2025-2026 School Year
Walla Walla Public Schools is proud to share the first Pulse video from new Superintendent Dr. Ben Gauyan, who officially began his tenure in July. Bringing more than 30 years of experience in education, Dr. Gauyan is a lifelong educator committed to helping every student reach their full potential. His leadership is grounded in the core values of student-centeredness, collaboration, trust, relationships, and data-informed decision-making—principles that have consistently driven improved student outcomes throughout his career.
In this special back-to-school message, Dr. Gauyan welcomes students, staff, and families to a new year of learning, growth, and community. He looks forward to building on Walla Walla’s strong tradition of educational excellence and working together to ensure every student thrives.
2025-2026 School Year Start Dates
Wednesday, August 20: Grades 1–12
Monday, August 25: Transition to Kindergarten and Kindergarten
Tuesday, September 2: Preschool (Head Start) – Walla Walla Center for Children and Families
Monday, September 8: Preschool (ECEAP) – Walla Walla Center for Children and Families
