Описание: The "Could I Play Bass With" series continues its journey with Australian guitarist and composer, Plini. It was a fantastic experience for both my ears and fingers to attempt picking up this song in under 30 minutes. Not only did it challenge my technical abilities, but it also pushed me to play in a tuning I'm not accustomed to, with the E-string tuned down to Db after the chordal intro.

Speaking of the chordal intro, in this series, I always seek a moment to infuse something original—much like what I might have done if I were in the studio recording the song or present during the writing process. Reharmonization stands out as one of my favorite aspects as an improvising musician and composer. When faced with something as open as a single repeated note, the possibilities are nearly limitless for molding the music in different directions.

I hope I haven't upset too many hardcore Plini fans by adding something to the song. This exploration is intended with a deep amount of respect for the music and for all the musicians and artists involved in the process of creating this fantastic song.

Recording notes: This is take two of two. I was at the end of the day, and as you can tell half way through the battery in the motorized camera slider died. I was going to do another take because of a mistake in the comping behind the guitar solo around 3:14. But when I heard the overall vibe of the track I liked how it came together, and I didn't want to wait for the slider batter to charge to do punches or fixes. So there it is. No edits, no fancy stuff, just one live take from start to finish.
