Ground parrots and Eastern Bristlebirds

Описание: Join me on an unforgettable birdwatching journey through Jervis Bay, Australia, as I search for two of the region's rarest and most elusive birds – the Ground Parrot and the endangered Eastern Bristlebird.

Starting at the Beecroft Weapons Range, just three hours south of Sydney, I explore the Little Target Fire Trail – a known hotspot for these cryptic birds. Along the way, I encounter a variety of local birdlife including Brown Quail, New Holland Honeyeaters, and the unmistakable calls of the Little Wattlebird.

Despite changeable weather with cold and rain, I’m rewarded with a once-in-a-lifetime sighting: an incredibly close encounter with a Ground Parrot, calmly feeding on native grasses just meters away. I also manage to capture audio and still images of the Eastern Bristlebird, an endangered species difficult to spot in the wild.

The next day at Booderee National Park I bumped into Youtube superstar Jan Wegener    / @jan_wegener   and, as a long-time fan, I went over to say hello.
