Diane begins the interview asking Eddie why he believes this is the most hated bull market. In Eddie’s opinion he believes it’s because many were not in and missed the V shaped recovery. Eddie believes big funds and hedge funds will have to buy dips to get in. In Eddie’s opinion, we’re in a goldilocks market, also noting that there can be a correction; but Eddie opines the sell offs will be shallow.
Eddie and Diane talk about a risk-on market. Eddie’s outlook for the right risk tolerance, keep buying the dips. When the bill, with trade deals and tax cuts passes, the market has quite a bit of a runway.
Diane asks what sectors/areas are most positioned for continued momentum? Eddie explains focus on the areas hit the hardest: consumer discretionary, semi-conductors, and small caps. The TEAM believes the economy will get stronger in the next few months but are ready to be nimble.
Diana asks what’s the play in a correction scenario? The TEAM would anticipate small caps, consumer discretionary names to take a bigger hit and will look to take that opportunity to rotate into higher beta areas.
Diana notes there is some weakness in the economy. Eddie believes until the labor market breaks down, the TEAM is not concerned with the economy. Eventually, the bill will eventually pass and result in more money printing, which in Eddie’s opinion, is bullish. The consumer is resilient. We’re seeing some solid earnings.
