If you're looking to build strength and size, is it better to do a full-body workout each time you lift, or is it better to do a traditional "bro split," hitting one body part as hard and heavy as you can each day? This common question was a crucial aspect of how I trained Aamir Khan for his films Dhoom 3 and PK.
In this video, we explore some of the science behind figuring out the best split for muscle growth, as well as some common sense questions to help you figure out if you should be using a whole-body workout approach, or if you're better off with a training split that hits each muscle group more intensely, most often with a 3 or 4-day split.
The three main factors I address in this video include:
How often do you work out
Your level of experience lifting weights
Your physical lifestyle
Each of these factors is important to address on its own but to figure out the best training split for you, you'll want to consider them all together, to ensure you are choosing a path that is most likely to help you reach your fitness goals while avoiding injury or overtraining.
