Sikkim Link Unearthed: Delhi Police Nabs Supplier in Massive ₹13,000 Crore International Drug Bust
New Delhi, 19 Jan : The Delhi Police Special Cell has made a significant breakthrough in the investigation of a colossal international drug syndicate, arresting a 40-year-old man from Sikkim. Sources indicate the accused, identified as Tilak Prasad Sharma, played a crucial role in the supply chain of the illicit network.
Key Development
The Allegation: Sharma is accused of facilitating the procurement of high-grade cannabis sourced from Thailand for the syndicate.
The Connection: This arrest is directly linked to the historic crackdown on October 2, 2024. During that operation, authorities seized a massive consignment of cocaine and cannabis valued at approximately ₹13,000 crore across raids in Delhi, Gujarat, and Punjab.
The Syndicate: The operation has already led to the arrest of over 15 individuals, exposing a deep-rooted network spanning multiple states.
The Masterminds: While the network is being dismantled, the alleged kingpin, Virendra Basoya, remains at large abroad. Authorities have also issued a Red Corner Notice against his son, Rishabh, who is similarly believed to be evading capture overseas.
Further investigations are currently in progress to trace the remaining links of this massive narcotic web.
