Cabezudos are an essential part of Semana Grande, San Sebastian's biggest festival of the year. San Sebastian is located in Basque Country in northeastern Spain. Cabezudos ("big heads") are, roughly speaking, marionettes or mascots that march through the streets throughout the week. Look for them on the Semana Grande schedule, but they can be difficult to miss for one big reason: cabezudos go around hitting people with dried animal bladders.
