Punjab Legislative Assembly Election 2022

Описание: Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Goa, Manipur and Uttarakhand will be competing polls in 2022. The tenure of the assemblies end between March 15, 2022 and March 27, 2022. The Election Commission of India will gather information and report the outcomes live. Punjab will vote to elect 117 members for its 16th Assembly.

The Punjab elections would be an interesting one with the drama that is taking place in the Congress following the resignation of Captain Amarinder Singh. The polls are interesting this time for several reasons, the main being the open rift in the run up to the elections between the Captain and Navjot Singh Sidhu. Captain has lost the long run battle in the state and Charanjit Singh Channi has sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Punjab. On the other hand, Navjot Singh Sidhu tends to play the pressure politics as he has tendered his resignation from the post of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President. The APP is also a key contender in the state.
