This week, we're focusing on hip mobility and slowing down to give the surrounding muscles some releasing stretches. This all-levels practice invites your hips and pelvis to explore circular movements and moments of stillness in poses like Child's pose, Pigeon, Bananasana, and Twisted/Reclining Deer.
Mindful movement and breath awareness can also help to clear the mind, so this slow and gentle practice might be nice as an after-work or evening class. The poses are done mostly kneeling, seated or lying down to offer opportunities for the body to release tension rather than activate 😊
You can go through the sequence without any props, but I'd recommend having a bolster or a large cushion for optional support. Also, if you know that you like to have some cushioning under the knees, then have a blanket or a towel ready for your knees.
