“In and Out of Love” just dropped out of the Billboard Top 40 last week and peaked at #9 back in December of ’67.

America had ”the bug” - Thanks to witty advertising, cheap cost and a reputation for reliability, the Volkswagen Beetle (or “Bug”) became one of the best selling cars in the U.S. in the late 60’s and early 70’s. Disney’s “Herbie the Love Bug” will premiere on Dec. 24. (My parents first car together was a ’69 Bug. I grew up riding often in the tiny area behind the back seat – the seatbelt-less area we called the back-back)

Jenny and Famous, if you ever see this, congratulations again! I hope you made good use of your new cars.

Philadelphia native Bobby Rydell, who passed away this week, made 11 guest appearances on American Bandstand both before and after the show moved to Hollywood. – Rest in peace. This month also marks the 10th anniversary (on April 18) of the passing of Dick Clark. We miss you Dick.
